Key takeaways:
- The answer to most “how do I do X in Controvo” questions is already in the Knowledge Base, but only if you know which of 36 articles to open
- Ask the Knowledge Base is a new AI assistant on the KB landing page that answers those questions in plain language
- Every answer is built from the published articles, and comes back with reference chips linking to the exact guides it used
- A rotating status shows what it’s doing while it reads, so a few seconds of thinking reads as progress, not a hang
- It’s built for the moment you’re mid-task and don’t want to stop and read three articles to find one sentence
The Answer Is in the Docs. Somewhere.
You’re halfway through setting something up in Controvo and you hit a question. How do you scope a monitor to a group of systems? Where does the ConnectWise API member get its security role? Does the CSV importer expect a header row?
You know the answer exists. We’ve been writing Knowledge Base articles for months, and there are now 36 of them covering the tools, the assets, and the settings. But knowing an answer exists and finding it are two different jobs. You open the index, guess at which article covers your question, skim it, guess again, and four articles later you find the one sentence you needed.
That’s fine when you’re learning the product on a slow afternoon. It’s friction when you’re mid-task with a client waiting, and it’s worse for a newer tech who doesn’t yet know how the docs are organized. The knowledge is there. Getting to it takes too many clicks.
What Controvo Built
Ask the Knowledge Base is an ask box on the Knowledge Base landing page. Type your question the way you’d ask a colleague across the desk, and Controvo answers in plain language.
The answer isn’t a web search, and it isn’t a general-purpose chatbot guessing about 3CX. The assistant reads Controvo’s own published articles and composes an answer from what’s actually documented, so what you get back matches how the product really works today, not how some model imagined it might.
Underneath every answer are reference chips: links to the specific articles the answer drew from. If you want the full walkthrough, the source guide is one click away. If the short answer was enough, you’re already back to work.
While it reads, the box shows a rotating status: searching the articles, pinpointing the right guides, composing the answer. A question takes a few seconds to answer, and the status makes those seconds read as work happening instead of a frozen screen. It respects reduced-motion settings, and it works in both light and dark themes like the rest of Controvo.
Why This Matters
The Knowledge Base was built to reduce support load and help partners self-serve. That only works if partners can find what they need at the moment they need it. An index of 36 articles helps someone who has time to browse. It doesn’t help the tech who has a specific question and a client on hold.
Ask the Knowledge Base closes that gap. The common questions, the ones that used to turn into a support message or a Slack ping to whoever knows Controvo best, now have an answer that comes back in seconds with the source attached. New team members get up to speed faster because they can ask instead of learning the shape of the docs first. And because every answer links back to the real articles, nobody has to take the assistant’s word for it.
This is part of a larger push this month to make the Knowledge Base do more work: we backfilled articles for features that shipped over the last few releases, added contextual help links on the pages those articles describe, and cleaned up the on-page navigation. The assistant sits on top of all of it.
Try It
Ask the Knowledge Base is available now on the Knowledge Base landing page in Controvo. Open Controvo, open the Knowledge Base, and ask it something. Not on Controvo yet? Get started.
